Interactive Noise 11
Work/Life/Noise balance has not been found yet.
Untitled Impalement Dioarama Game by Yames – Available through Patreon
The intriguing title alone should prompt you to subscribe to Yames’ Patreon. This is another prime example of Yames’ unique fusion of gnostic heresies and scientific speculation. The concept veers into comedic territory while remaining deeply disquieting in its implications. Revisiting Yames’ imagination is always a pleasure.
Gorgon’s Garden by Feverdream Johnny - https://feverdreamjohnny.itch.io/gorgons-garden
Feverdream Johnny is another creator whose work I always look forward to. Gorgon’s Garden blends a minimal haunted MMORPG with a creepypasta-infused ARG. The billboarding effects layered onto the 3D structures gradually break apart as the horror unfolds, shattering the initial cute Flash game nostalgia. A solid 30–45-minute trip (and a very menacing kitchen reflection on the monitor).
NOTHERE RN by minime1212 – https://minime1212.itch.io/nothere-rn
And now for some proper interactive noise. NOTHERE RN explores dissociation through a world structured by vertical reflection symmetry. The environment opens only when resisting the natural inclination toward centered resolution. Frenzied tonal shifts further perturb spatial perception, contrasting with a mellow soundscape that acts as an anchor.
7210nt by basicbean – https://basicbean.itch.io/7210nt
Created for the noisejam back in September 2025 (don’t hold it against me, I have a backlog of over 200 games I pick from with a random number generator, which explains the anachronism in each entry’s selections), 7210nt is a prime example of interactive ilinx, or games of vertigo. It’s essentially a five-minute burst of sensory saturation and CPU-crashing layered effects. Entering forbidden dimensions as the next trip beyond DMT.
angelHospital by Pepper - https://pepper-salt.itch.io/angelmuseum
An entry for the Gallery Jam (October 2025 this time), this interactive gallery experience proposes a series of landscapes filled with alien structures and entities ranging from splayed flesh to glitch epidermis. A great demonstration of the museum/gallery spatial structures being transposed in the interactive media, a practice I’ve analysed (shameless promotion) in a recent article that was published in France. You can read it here (French only).
Kraa by Buldozer – https://buldozer.itch.io/kraa
A majestic and contemplative experience featuring beautiful hand-drawn scenery (which, oddly, recalled Postal (Run with Scissors, 1997)). The gradual transition from dusk to night is handled with impressive subtlety. A short but effective meditation on the passage of time, with a touch of corvid folk horror.
Not Just This by A.V. Dossow – https://avdossow.itch.io/not-just-this
Phoenix Wright reimagined in a speculative future where justice is delivered through lethal injections of grotesque bodily deconstruction. Some quality-of-life improvements would smooth the experience, but overall, it remains a joyfully gory take on absurd legal drama.
Lonesome Town by Vuk Dobric – https://danka-dobric.itch.io/lonesome-town
An absurd crime thriller set in a city of cardboard façades and mechanical props. This artificiality makes the realism of the gunshot victim that follows the protagonist throughout his grave-robbing, police-evading journey all the more striking. Short, strange, and supported by an excellent soundtrack.
